As much as he wanted the job he should never have taken it after they sacked Billy. he was his "friend" and if mates don't stick up for each other then all is lost.

you are spot on my friend...Malcolm Allison was a huge influence that resonated ..

Redknapp and Lampard Snr tried to bring in what they were taught..it was a good period for us..dont think anyone can knock em for that..personal views seem to overide..fair enough.

look..all all is nonsense...all these names are club legends and were great players for us.

Chelsea have been putting players up in Chelsea Harbour long before Abramovich arrived ..

In fact, I'm pretty sure that Bilic lived there when he played for us!

As I understand that’s what happens now and they put them up initially at least in Canary Wharf and presumably have welfare types who sort out the day to day living stuff while they settle in.
The thing about Margas I read said they put him in the middle of nowhere and he ended up miles from the training ground trying to drive there on the first day.
He was utterly miserable and literally escaped to go home.

Re: Harry Redknapp signs up for I'm a Celebrity
Unforgivable really...

You'd think that foreign players would feel more comfortable closer to the centre. We can laugh at what Shoreditch or Dalston have become but nowadays they would probably be more at home in a flash apartment around there than a dive in the middle of nowhere...

Re: Harry Redknapp signs up for I'm a Celebrity
We were a yo-yo side and never addressed that.
I guess Joey Beachamp was the classic of a lack of due diligence in signing a player.
Bonds made that comment in the interview that he did alongside Kevin Beattie.
He was old school and didn’t adapt to modern players.

You’d hope clubs are better in dealing with foreign players these days. Was reading that they used to put them out in some Essex shit hole miles from anywhere.
Margas got so desperate that when Harry went to see where he was he didn’t answer the door and jumped out the window and legged it to the airport.

hopefully a crocodile eats the ginger cunt

...........

Miike, that reminded me of my favourite Mike Reid joke.....

“I was in Africa and I looked across the river and saw a crocodile on the other side of the river bank with a bloke’s head sticking out it’s mouth. I thought to myself ‘look at that flash cunt, he’s only got himself a Lacoste sleeping bag’.”

Re: Harry Redknapp signs up for I'm a Celebrity
I think Bonzo did admit much later that he could of been more sympathetic to the players at the time but he was just enforcing what he had been subjected to during his career...he didn't know any better. However, he got promoted without Redknapp, got relegated under the bond scheme nightmare and got promoted again with Redknapp by his side.

What did for him was his record in the transfer market... Mitchell Thomas, Dale Gordon and the Joey Beauchamp one was the beginning of the end. Awful players...no due diligence done on Gordon who was obviously crocked and Norwich got rid onto us.

Redknapp did do the dirty on him though and that is no way to treat your so called best mate of 25+ years.

I’m not sure Bonds was a great manager but when you look back to his period .... our team was pretty SHIT. Mediocre average players at best

Re: Harry Redknapp signs up for I'm a Celebrity
The win stats % is flawed as Greenwood and Redknapp only managed in the top division.

Be interesting to see a top flight only stat.

Having said that Bonds managed the club in very difficult circumstances and I think he did ok all things considered.

I've never heard that story before about Bonzo filling out betting slips in full view of everyone at the training ground.
So the best managerial % win stats that Bonds has( apart from Brooking as caretaker for two short spells) must be down to his assistant arry boy I suppose!

Is this one where the public get to vote to have someone eat a koala cock or a handful of redback spiders ?

Can imagine WHOnline will keep Harry well fed

Re: Harry Redknapp signs up for I'm a Celebrity
Bonds was out of his depth as manager and thankfully Redknapp took over. I was at the training ground once and Bonds was far more interested in his copy of the Racing Post and filling out a shitload of betting slips in full view of everyone. Cheers Bill, thanks for popping in,

Bonds the legend then went on to manage Millwall.

I totally understand the respect that Bonds the player gets but the abuse that Redknapp gets is obscene and seriously flawed.
